Industry experts join expanding Harry the hirer Productions
Harry the hirer Productions is proud to announce the arrival of two new and very accomplished employees. Marcus Pugh and Mike Davis have joined the team. With 20 years in the entertainment industry specializing in lighting production, Marcus Pugh brings solid expertise in lighting production to the team.
Mike Davis joins the team fresh from a successful contract with Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as Site Services Manager (Rigging). Previous to this, Mike has spent the last seven years rigging across Australia in a diverse range of disciplines including concert rigging, television and film, automation, venue and exhibition rigging.
Tourism New Zealand appoints new general manager Australia
Tourism New Zealand has announced a new leadership appointment of Andrew Waddel to the role of General Manager Australia.
Waddel joins Tourism New Zealand from organic syrup manufacturer Soda Press Co, which he joined after founding his own consultancy Freewheelers & Co. and prior, was the Marketing director at Red Bull Australia.
Waddel has extensive marketing experience with Fonterra and leading brands including Stella Artois, Beck’s and Red Bull. Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive Stephen England-Hall said Waddel has a passion for all things New Zealand and is a strong advocate of understanding consumer needs.
Waddel will be based in Tourism New Zealand’s Australian office in Sydney, with his appointment effective immediately.
New Director of Sales for Christchurch’s Te Pae
Gillian Officer has been appointed the Director of Sales for Te Pae, Christchurch Convention Centre. Starting this week, her new role will be to secure events for the opening of Te Pae from late 2020 onwards.
She was previously the Director of Sales – Conventions and Outcatering at SkyCity based in Auckland, and has held similar roles with the Wellington Convention Centre and The Edge, Auckland Convention Centre.
Te Pae, which means gathering place, is on track for opening in the second half of 2020. It will be able to host up to 2000 delegates for a variety of national and international events.
The prime central city venue includes a divisible auditorium, 200-booth exhibition hall, banquet hall and 24 meeting rooms overlooking the picturesque Victoria Square and Ōtākaro/Avon River.
New company appointed to represent Maldives resort
