Flight attendant fired after proposal video goes viral

Earlier this year, a flight attendant got more than she bargained for at work – her boyfriend proposed!

But now, months later, the China Eastern Airlines flight attendant has been fired over the incident, according to news.com.au. 

Asia One reported that half an hour after take-off, the woman’s longtime boyfriend popped the question right at the front of the aircraft, down on one knee and all.

After she accepted, the passengers cheered as the couple hugged and kissed, in a clip which went viral on Youtube soon after.

“I really didn’t know my boyfriend will be proposing to me on this flight, thanks for being my witnesses,” she said at the time, according to Asia One.

However, months later on September 10, she received a dismissal letter in the mail from China Eastern Airlines, which cited that she “neglected passenger safety”. And if we got fired for accepting a proposal mid-flight, we’d be pretty damn confused.

China’s Channel 8 also reported that the letter said that the woman’s “private romantic behaviour caused turmoil among passengers” and was “extremely irresponsible for the safety of passengers”.

 But if we were passengers on that plane, we would definitely not have felt unsafe or in “turmoil”. Just sayin’.
