Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has partnered with The Intrepid Foundation to launch a new global initiative aimed at scaling its social impact efforts across its workforce.
The program, dubbed ‘FCTG Gives’, will enable the company’s global staff to fundraise and donate directly to more than 50 community organisations supported by Intrepid Travel’s not-for-profit arm.
The move marks an evolution of the long-standing relationship between Flight Centre Travel Group and Intrepid Travel, with a sharper focus on embedding purpose alongside profit.
Yvette Thompson, general manager sales and marketing ANZ at Intrepid Travel, said the partnership had been reimagined over the past 12 months.
“Over the past 12 months, Flight Centre Travel Group and Intrepid Travel have been reimagining what our long-standing partnership could look like if we chose to drive and measure purpose as well as profit,” Thompson said.
“Today, I’m really excited to share the next chapter.”
Through the platform, FCTG employees will be able to support a range of causes, including wildlife protection via World Animal Protection, anti-human trafficking initiatives through Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and mobility programs with World Bicycle Relief.
Thompson said the initiative is about deepening impact rather than adding a superficial layer to the partnership.
“This isn’t about adding a bolt-on or launching something new for the sake of it. It’s about evolving a partnership we’ve built over many years, and unlocking the collective power and passion of our people to create positive impact together,” she said.
The launch has been backed by senior leaders across both organisations, including FCTG founder Graham Turner, as well as Michelle Degenhardt, Suzi Borgelt, Biheng Zhang and Rachel Miller.
The initiative comes as travel companies increasingly look to formalise and scale their sustainability and social impact strategies, particularly as expectations around purpose-driven travel continue to rise.
