Flight Centre has launched an external search for a head of product – flights and insurance as part of a broader overhaul of its global product structure across five core markets.
The newly created role will oversee one of the brand’s largest and most strategically important categories, covering air and insurance across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
The recruitment drive forms part of a shift to a category-led global product model, centralising leadership across flights, insurance, hotels, car hire, cruise and touring to strengthen supplier negotiations and improve pricing consistency.
Monique Van Gelder has been appointed global product leader, taking responsibility for the brand’s product vision, partnerships and category strategy worldwide. She brings more than 21 years of experience across Flight Centre Travel Group, spanning marketing, digital, ecommerce and global cruise and touring strategy.

Reporting to Van Gelder is a newly configured global leadership team:
Maria Marendy has been appointed head of product, hotels, car and tourism.
Tammy Marquet becomes head of product, cruise and tour.
Jane Lodge has been named head of product operations.
In a newly created role, Kate Foster has been appointed product operations AU and global consultant enablement lead.
Gemma Brown in New Zealand and Monica Di Vito in the United Kingdom will continue as country product leaders within the enhanced global framework.
Flight Centre global managing director Andrew Stark said the restructure was designed to strengthen consultant capability and create a consistent commercial conversation with supplier partners across all five markets.
The centralised model is expected to increase global alignment in supplier negotiations while reinforcing margin control in key categories.
