UK resident, William Armstrong, probably had a near heart attack when he got this letter in the mail recently, after losing his ID on a drunken night out.

Armstrong opened up a letter from local travel agency Flight Centre, which showed an expensive itinerary and asked for payment of £5,289.87, or AU$9,045 AUD.

The itinerary listed four First Class flights with Etihad Airways, taking Armstrong from his hometown of London, to Abu Dhabi, the Maldives and then back home.

Payment was requested by Friday 10 November, about when Armstrong probably had some serious anxiety sweats going.

Luckily, though, the third page was a little ‘ha ha’ note, admitting it was just taking the piss, and that Armstrong hadn’t actually booked a seriously expensive holiday.

The travel agent had, in fact, just found his ID and thought it would make for a funny joke.

“We’re just kidding,” the letter finished. “We’ve found your driving licence outside our shop thought you might need it!

“Just make sure you consider us for your next holiday. Take care!”

Flight Centre agent Steve was behind the prank, apparently, which Armstrong also shared on Twitter.

Aah, classic Flight Centre.

here’s the man himself, thank you Steve! pic.twitter.com/D0ctqiSXlY
