If you’ve spent the last two years fantasising about where you’re going to visit once the world reopens, then you’re not alone because the kind people at Flight Centre have been doing the same thing and they’ve revealed their top 22 places to visit in 2022.
The list goes far and wide and includes destinations from the Rainbow Mountains in China, to the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Finland, and even to Broome in WA.
Seven Aussie locations are included in the list, spanning all over the land down under, and include some of Australia’s hot tourist locations like Hamilton Island in Queensland and Kangaroo Island in South Australia.
A few locations of our neighbours over the Tasman Sea get a shout out too with the surreal Waitomo Glow-worm Caves making an appearance and Mount Ngauruhoe popping up.
A beautiful array of European destinations make an appearance as well with Brasov, Romania coming in at number 10 with its beautiful gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture.
St. Petersburg, Russia also shows up on the list to remind travellers of the beauty of its preserved heritage architecture, and Glenfinnan Viaduct, Scotland is there to bring potential tourists back to watching Harry Potter.
The list doesn’t forget some iconic Asian destinations with Hitachi Seaside Park, Japan there reminding travellers of awe-inspiring array of flowers at the park, and the stunning architecture at the Hsinbyume Pagoda in Myanmar at number five on the list.
Flight Centre also included one of the most stunning seven wonders of the world and an incredible display of rock cut-out architecture which is of course Petra, Jordan.
The list is full of interesting and unique places and even if you can’t visit them all this year, which is the vast majority of people, you can at least put them on your bucket list for the future.
