A commercial flight has been forced to make an emergency landing after a stray cat appeared in the cockpit and attacked one of the pilots.
The flight, which was run by Sudanese airline Tarco Aviation, took off from Khartoum, Sudan and was bound for Doha, Qatar when the flight captain discovered the aggravated stowaway.
About an hour after takeoff, the flight was forced to return to Khartoum after the cat attacked the pilot, according to Al Sudani News.
An investigation by the airline revealed the cat must have boarded the plane while it was being cleaned or during the engineering review.
This isn’t the first time a cat had wreaked havoc on an aircraft. Last year, an Israeli cargo plane was delayed by a few days after a cat managed to find its way on board and crew were unable to find it.
According to Israeli media outlet Ynet, an El Al Dreamliner 787 was grounded at a Hong Kong Airport for at least two days after cat paw prints were found on board.
It’s not clear whether the cat was found or not, but we assume it was seeing as the plane was given clearance to take-off.
