Former Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty has commenced her role as general manager for Passenger Experience at Sydney Airport.
Australian Geraghty stepped down from her role at Air New Zealand last year after 20 years with the carrier. She joined Air NZ as NSW state manager in 2004 but spent the last eight years in New Zealand. Her resignation came into effect in January.
Her appointment comes at a critical moment as Sydney Airport continues significant infrastructure investments to support growing passenger numbers. Geraghty’s leadership will prioritise operational readiness and efficiency while ensuring passengers have a seamless experience as they travel through the airport, a Sydney Airport spokesperson said.
Geraghty’s first public appearance was on The Today Show this week to offer passenger guidance on Easter holiday travel during significant upgrades to both the domestic and international terminals.
“I’m delighted to join Sydney Airport at such an exciting time,” Geraghty said. “My main goal is to keep things running smoothly and efficiently for our passengers. I want to make real improvements at every step of their journey. I look forward to working closely with our teams to deliver services that truly resonate with passengers, airlines, and the wider Sydney Airport community.”
