The Scenic Rim region will play host to the first-ever Taste of Country with The Overflow Estate 1895 resident French chef Olivier Boudon creating a new fusion menu.
On Sunday, 3 November, Taste of Country has been created as the flavour finale to The Scenic Rim Trail, also featuring The Long Sunset, which is Australia’s most picturesque music festival and takes place at Canungra’s Elysian Fields, headlined this year by Australian artists Matt Corby and Angie McMahon.
Taste of Country combines fine food and wine, and fabulous music against the backdrop of vineyards overlooking Lake Wyaralong. Fans can choose between the laid-back Music on the Lawn picnic experience, or an indulgent gourmet dining event that fuses Mununjali and French cuisine and includes dishes.
Some of these dishes include Wattleseed Sourdough & Finger Lime Butter, Lemon Myrtle crusted crocodile tail, smoked kangaroo with bush tomato and onion balsamic jam, toasted Macadamia Bush Rosemary sweet potato mash, crispy sheep cheese fingers with Davidson Plum jam, and Rozella creme brulee and Macadamia Shortbread.
Guests can participate in the following:
- Music on the Lawn: Enjoy live performances by Sara Berki, Stelle, and Sunny Luwe.
- Wine tastings and local cuisine: Sample locally sourced native bush tucker ingredients paired with exceptional wine.
- Gourmet dining: Partake in a fusion of Mununjali and French cuisine, curated by French chef Olivier Boudon in collaboration with Mununjali Traditional Owners.
