French authorities are pushing to ban low-cost flights around Europe to cut back on carbon emissions.
In an interview with L’Obs, France’s transport minister Clément Beaune said €10 airfares across the continent needed to end in a time of “environmental crisis”.
Beaune suggested the introduction of a Government-mandated “minimum air ticket price” to “fight against social and environmental dumping.”
He also signalled intentions to raise aviation taxes for all airlines, but even more so private jets.
