Fusion Hotel Group has announced a key appointment in Thailand with the promotion of Swiss national Markus Gloor to the position of regional director for the Group.
Markus Gloor possesses three decades of experience in the hospitality sector in Switzerland and Thailand. He was previously the director of operations in Thailand and joined GLOW Hotels & Resorts in 2014, helping establish and grow the brand until its merger with Fusion Hotel Group in 2021. Markus also contributed to the expanding of the brand presenting in Thailand, overseeing the launch of Fusion Suites Phuket Patong and GLOW Bangkok Riverside in 2024. This ensured the smooth operations of other GLOW Hotels and Resorts in Thailand.
Fusion said in a statement it was looking to expand to new regions in Southeast Asia in 2025, and in his new role, Markus Gloor takes on the added responsibility of opening and overseeing new properties outside of Thailand and Vietnam.
“Markus brings a wealth of experience and skills, including a multi-disciplinary approach to operations and strategic business planning, as well as a strong focus on both guest service satisfaction and driving strong financial results,” Fusion Hotel Group chief operating officer, David Roberts, said.
“As Regional Director, he will oversee our properties in Thailand, working closely with owners and general managers to ensure staff satisfaction, enhancing the guest experience, and meeting business goals while driving growth in Thailand and neighboring countries.”
Markus Gloor had been instrumental in building the Fusion and GLOW brands in Thailand, and that under his stewardship the Group expected to expand its footprint in Thailand and elsewhere this year, Roberts said further.
“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Regional Director for the Fusion Hotel Group,” Markus Gloor said. “This strategic move aligns with our commitment to growth and team expansion in Thailand, while exploring new markets like Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines, as we work towards reaching 50 properties by 2028.”
