To celebrate the US reopening its borders for international travel, G Adventures has expanded its United States of Adventure collection in Australia and New Zealand.

Last month, G Adventures also celebrated its 1,000th tour departure since the start of the pandemic with not one, but 11 trips departing to coincide with the milestone departure.

The milestone goes to show how G Adventures has safely operated tours since September 2020 – more departures than any other operator since the onset of the global pandemic – supporting employment and boosting the local economies in countries dependent on tourism.

The additional 13 newly-developed tours in the US double the size of the collection, which was launched in February 2021 for domestic travellers, and now offers 28 trip options to national and Navajo Nation parks.

They include important Indigenous-led experiences such as in Monument Valley, where an Indigenous guide will share their background and connection to the land; and a stop to the Native Grill food truck in Navajo Nation, a community tourism project that supports the local Indigenous community while serving delicious Navajo tacos to travellers.

The trips also include secured access to highlights such as Antelope Canyon, which has been difficult to secure tickets for since the boom in domestic tourism this past year.

Sean Martin, managing director for Australia and New Zealand at G Adventures, said the timing could not be more perfect to unveil the United States of Adventure trips to a global audience as international travel resumes, especially with the recent news of borders opening in NSW this month.

“We know our Aussie and Kiwi travellers love travelling to the United States, and it’s a known quantity as a travel destination, so we’re super excited they can now plan their long-awaited bucket list US adventure,” Martin said.

“This new collection also meets the increased desire for this market to get out in nature and be more remote, so we’ve really worked hard to make the experiences enriching and fulfilling for this audience.”

The new tours depart from autumn 2022 and are a mix of Classic and 18-to-Thirtysomethings travel styles, ensuring the right pace to suit each traveller.

Classic trips offer travellers the benefit of seeing several parks in one go, with some time spent in cities and comfortable hotel accommodation throughout. The 18-to-Thirtysomethings trips are action-packed with travellers staying at campsites and in basic motels.

G Adventures is also offering up to 30 per cent off on more than 400 itineraries departing before 31 October 2022, with the launch of its biggest Cyber Sale of the year.

The sale will run until 2 December at applies to more than 400 itineraries across the company’s selection of 18-to-Thirtysomethings, Active, Classic, Family, Local Living and Marine travel styles.

Tours that are on sale and depart before 31 May 2022 earn travellers a generous discount of up to 30 per cent, with additional departures before 31 October 2022, offering savings of up to 20 per cent off the original price.
