G Adventures has partnered with Promperu to offer an early look at high-end travel opportunities in Peru ahead of the launch of the new National Geographic Signature with G Adventures collection in January.
The curated journey was designed to demonstrate the premium travel opportunities within Peru and the potential to deliver meaningful impact, while introducing agents to the core pillars of the National Geographic Signature with G Adventures collection. Drawing on G Adventures’ 35+ years of leadership in community tourism, the itinerary emphasised purposeful travel experiences, with strong engagement with local communities and conservation initiatives throughout.
Over 10 days, advisors travelled through Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and the Peruvian Amazon, experiencing a blend of standout culinary moments, premium accommodations that reflected local culture and heritage, and hands-on encounters with artisans, conservation specialists and community-led tourism initiatives. These experiences also highlighted Promperu’s commitment to socially responsible travel and community-driven tourism development.
The journey began in Lima, named Best Culinary City in Latin America by the World Culinary Awards, where the group sampled some of the city’s most acclaimed restaurants and explored the depth and diversity of Peruvian cuisine. From there, the group travelled to the Sacred Valley, where immersive cultural experiences and boutique accommodation brought the region’s heritage to life.

The itinerary concluded in the Amazon rainforest, with an immersive stay in Puerto Maldonado in the Madre de Dios region; one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Advisors explored the Tambopata National Reserve, including a boat trip on Lake Sandoval, offering a powerful demonstration of Peru’s natural richness and conservation efforts.
In total, 11 top Travel Associates advisors participated in the trip, designed to strengthen their knowledge of Peru’s premium offering and position the destination as a leader in authentic, sustainable and transformative travel. The program included premium accommodation, private transport, expert-led experiences and privileged access to key cultural and natural sites.
The initiative forms part of Promperu’s broader strategy to grow Peru’s visibility within Australia’s premium travel sector. Recent efforts have included targeted trade training, high-end roadshows, media partnerships and collaboration with key industry stakeholders.
Peru continues to resonate strongly with Australian premium travellers, thanks to its combination of world-class gastronomy, living culture, boutique luxury accommodation and extraordinary natural diversity, from the Andes to the Amazon.
Australia is one of the fastest-growing source markets for Peru and remains a priority for destination promotion within the luxury travel segment. Australian travellers consistently rank among the highest spenders in Peru, contributing significantly to the country’s tourism economy. In 2025, Peru welcomed 34,721 Australian visitors, representing a 27 per cent increase compared to 2024.
