CATO members gathered in Sydney last night for the AGM and Members’ Dinner, an evening that celebrated achievement, recognised industry leaders and marked a pivotal moment in CATO’s history.
A highlight of the evening was the induction of Sue Badyari, CEO of World Expeditions Travel Group, and Dennis Bunnik, Joint CEO of Bunnik Tours, into the of the Council of Australian Tour Operators Hall of Fame, honouring their exceptional and enduring contributions to Australian travel.
The evening also saw Life Membership of CATO bestowed upon Dennis Bunnik and Brett Jardine, recognising their outstanding dedication and long-term service to the organisation.
New CATO Committee chair Sean Martin said the evening reflected both the heritage of the organisation and the opportunities ahead.
“This was an evening of celebration, gratitude and optimism,” said Martin. “As we embark on an exciting new chapter with ATIA, it was fitting that we paused to recognise the people whose leadership and commitment have helped shape CATO and the broader touring industry.
“The evening represented both beginnings and endings. While this marks the end of CATO as a standalone organisation, its legacy, values and voice will continue through the new CATO Committee and our representation within ATIA. The future of the touring and wholesale sector has never been stronger.”
