Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FCTG) flagship Global Gathering has delivered an estimated 262 million Baht (AU$11.2 million) tourism boost for Thailand, after more than 2,000 top-performing employees from across the company’s global network descended on Bangkok.

Held from 10-12 July, Global Gathering: Bangkok 2026 brought together frontline consultants, sales teams, executives and support staff from FCTG markets worldwide, including Australia, for the company’s largest annual event.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), through its Sydney office, supported the event alongside public and private sector partners, helping shape a programme designed to showcase the destination to some of the world’s most influential travel sellers.

Delegates stayed across Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, kicking off the three-day event with Thai cultural experiences including Nuat Thai, the traditional Thai massage practice recognised on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

The programme included a sponsor networking lunch at Baan Dusit Thani, connecting more than 500 FCTG executives and global partners with Thai tourism operators, followed by the main conference at UOB Live, the Global Awards Dinner at Impact Arena and Flight Fest at Asiatique The Riverfront.

Delegates also explored Bangkok through curated tours of Bang Rak, Yaowarat and Talat Noi, while a Muay Thai experience at Rajadamnern Stadium showcased one of Thailand’s most iconic cultural exports. Part of registration proceeds will support the National Elephant Institute under Royal Patronage in Lampang Province.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the event strengthened Thailand’s relationship with the travel professionals who influence destination choices in international markets, supporting the country’s Value over Volume strategy and its push into health and wellness tourism under the “Healing is the New Luxury” banner.

Beyond the immediate economic impact, the Global Gathering has further positioned Thailand among the global travel trade community.
