TravelManagers kicked off its 17th annual national conference in Hobart yesterday, the network’s first time bringing the event to Tasmania.
The morning opened with welcomes from MC Jordana Borensztajn, Tourism Tasmania’s Sarah Kingston, and TravelManagers’ own Joe Araullo and Michael Gazal, before keynote speaker Lisa O’Neill took the stage.
Araullo used his opening address to reveal the network was tracking 4 per cent down on sales for the April-July period against a backdrop of Middle East conflict, high airfares and rate rises – but pointed to a strong recovery in June and July, with August “looking really good.”
Gazal outlined four key growth pillars for PTMs: luxury, corporate, cruise and technology, including new AI tools in development.
The morning continued with a Platinum Presentation from Ponant’s Janelle Ramsey and a PTM presentation from Amanda Brady, before delegates broke for lunch and the trade show.
The day wrapped with the “A Taste of Tassie” welcome function at Princes Wharf 1, sponsored by Viking.
