Gate 7 and Dream Plan Go have launched the Where Music Was Born campaign in partnership with Chris Watson Travel and Travel South USA.
The campaign is a digital and in-person initiative that showcases the legendary music destinations of Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and South Carolina, inviting Australians to explore the soul of the American South.
Through a dedicated digital portal, Aussie travellers can discover the soulful charm of the Southern USA through its rich musical heritage. Visitors can explore iconic destinations, learn about upcoming events and festivals, savor mouthwatering Southern cuisine, and immerse themselves in the vibrant attractions that make a trip to The South as unique as it is unforgettable. Adding to the excitement is the chance to win two return flights with Delta Air Lines to explore the musical heartland of America.
Bringing the campaign to life, Where Music Was Born will feature in-person pop-ups from Mississippi and Tennessee at two of Australia’s largest music festivals, offering attendees a chance to learn about these iconic states and enter the competition in person.
At the renowned Parkes Elvis Festival (9-10 January), visitors can stop by the booth to enjoy an Elvis-inspired performance by Robbie Mortimer on Thursday or indulge in a Souther-style BBQ on Friday. Later in the month, the campaign heads to the Tamworth Country Music Festival (23 and 25 January) appearing at Toyota Park during Kix Live in the Park on Thursday, Nashville-based performers John and Jax Stone will perform on the main stage and join for an exclusive meet-and-greet. On Saturday, the campaign appears beside the Golden Guitars Awards red carpet, bringing the glitz, glamour, and magic of Southern music for festivalgoers and VIPs alike.
“This campaign brings the American South’s rich musical legacy to life,” Travel South USA president, Liz Bittner, said. “From iconic cities to hidden gems, it celebrates the culture and spirit of a region where every town has a sound, and every stop tells a story.”
“Where Music Was Born is a tribute to the South’s deep connection between music and travel,” Gate 7 founder, Jo Palmer, added. “It offers Australians a window into the region’s vibrant culture, history, and unforgettable charm, inspiring them to explore its legendary destinations.”
