Travel Weekly’s Cruise Pursuit is just around the corner and there’s still plenty of time to register for both the Sydney and Brisbane events.

You most certainly don’t want to miss a fantastic night with friends, trivia bubbles and fun, so gather your cleverest agent pals and get involved now!

Plus, if you think you know all there is to know about cruises, and then you may find yourself winning a share of the $3000 cash prize! And today, we’re sharing yet another sneak peek at what’s in store for the night’s questions, with Holland America Line one of the terrific cruise lines joining us on the night AND helping us come up with some questions.

Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line have already given us their insider tips on how to level up prior to the night, which you can study by clicking on those links right there.

And now read on for some background information that’s guaranteed to give you a leg up for the quiz from HAL.

Holland America lines have opened up bookings for the Premiere Voyage and 2018-19 inaugural Caribbean cruise season aboard ms Nieuw Statendam. Due for delivery in December 2018, the second Pinnacle Class ship in the fleet is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy.

Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam departs December 5 on its Premiere Voyage with guests — a 14-day transatlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship will then spend the winter season cruising round trip from the South Florida port on seven-day Caribbean itineraries, with select three, four and 10-day options.

“The crossing is a great chance for guests to really get to know the ship and explore every corner during the sea days, and the Caribbean season is a perfect blend of ports that highlight the beauty, diversity and relaxed ambiance of that region.” said Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line’s president.

The 99,500-ton ship’s design will be similar to ms Koningsdam, the first Pinnacle Class ship. Nieuw Statendam will carry 2666 guests and have exclusive public spaces. It will have its own style created by leading hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and designer and architect Bjorn Storbraaten.

Holland America Line’s first ship to be called Statendam sailed in 1898, and this will be the sixth ship in the company’s history to carry the name. In combining the Dutch word for “new” with the classic Statendam, Holland America Line is celebrating the company’s past, present and future.
