With the 2026 Commonwealth Games putting Glasgow in the spotlight, a new VisitBritain webinar will show agents how to convert global attention into long-term sales across Scotland and Northern England.

On your marks – Glasgow is gearing up for a global moment, and the travel trade is being urged to get ahead of the demand.

VisitBritain is hosting a targeted webinar for Australian and New Zealand agents, spotlighting why Glasgow, Scotland and Northern England are set to surge in popularity in the lead-up to – and well beyond – the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

As major events continue to drive destination awareness and bookings, the session will unpack how agents can turn that spotlight into sustained sales, tapping into a region rich with culture, landscapes and high-value itineraries.

From vibrant cities and dramatic coastlines to immersive rail journeys and multi-stop touring routes, the update will focus on practical ways to package and sell the UK beyond the traditional hotspots.

The session is designed to equip agents with both inspiration and tangible tools, helping them confidently position Glasgow and the wider region to clients looking for something new – or looking to travel around the Games period.

Importantly, the opportunity extends far beyond the event itself. VisitBritain will highlight how the increased global attention on Glasgow is expected to drive ongoing interest in Scotland and Northern England, creating a longer tail of demand for trade-ready itineraries.

The 30-minute update will be followed by a live Q&A, giving agents the chance to dive deeper into product, routing and sales opportunities.

And for those needing an extra nudge, there’s also a $100 gift card up for grabs for one attendee who joins live.

Webinar details:

Date: Wednesday 18 March 2026

Time: 12pm AEDT (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra)

Duration: 30-minute update plus live Q&A

Who: Open to all AU and NZ travel trade

With Glasgow stepping into the spotlight, this is one start line agents won’t want to miss.
