UK-based Online Travel Training (OTT) has officially launched in Australia and New Zealand.
The product information and marketing platform connects suppliers and sellers in the form of an e-learning library for travel agents with destination, aviation, cruise and GDS courses.
More than 185,000 travel agents and tour operators worldwide use the platform.
The training courses vary in length and include videos and multiple-choice questions to test agents’ knowledge.
OTT practices ‘micro-learning’ and although course lengths vary, all have a maximum time of 20 minutes – in line with the human attention span for e-learning. Many of the courses also offer incentives including prizes and famil experiences.
The OTT platform currently offers the below courses for agents, with more going live soon:
- Visit Britain
- Setouchi Tourism Authority
- Atlantic Canada and Vancouver
- Visit Copenhagen
- In cruising: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Riviera Travel Cruises
- In aviation: Emirates, Royal Brunei Airlines and United Airlines
- In GDS: Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, IATA, Worldspan and Crew
OTT has chosen integrated PR and marketing agency GTI to grow its travel trade community in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Julia Feuell, managing director of OTT, said the platform’s local launch was a direct response to the highly engaged travel professionals in this market.
“Many of the travel industry’s suppliers are global and we consistently saw a demand for courses outside of the UK,” she said.
“When we initially offered the platform in Australia, we found that the travel professionals were really engaged with the content, so we decided to proactively expand our training courses in Australia and New Zealand, with the help of GTI.”
