Coach touring brands Globus and Cosmos have committed to donating to UNICEF Australia with each passenger booked from today onwards.

The donations will go towards helping children and their families around the world, wherever the need is greatest, from providing lifesaving supplies during emergencies to supporting programs that improve health, nutrition, and wellbeing.

The partnership is part of Globus family of brands’ commitment to the Lighthouse Project, an initiative unveiled a year ago, aimed to help travellers come together to give generously for the globe’s greater good.

The project’s three give-back categories; People, Planet and Places, guide the work of the Lighthouse Project. The UNICEF Australia partnership and donations will contribute to realising meaningful give back actions for ‘people’ and specifically children around the world.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with UNICEF Australia to give back in a meaningful way through the Globus and Cosmos brands, and for our customers to get involved and support the amazing efforts of UNICEF Australia,” said Gai Tyrrell, managing director Australasia of Globus family of brands.

“This partnership is incredibly important for us as we continue to dedicate time, resources and our commitment to the Lighthouse Project, for travel to impact the greater good across the globe.

“We are dedicated to protecting, respecting and supporting the extraordinary communities of the world, as well as improving the individual lives within them, as we share incredible cultures with our valued travellers on our global tours. We can’t wait to support UNICEF Australia directly and look forward to seeing the impact of this vital work where it’s needed most.

“UNICEF Australia is a champion for children everywhere and now, more than ever, they need our support,” said Tony Stuart, UNICEF Australia CEO.

“It is due to the generosity of partners such as Globus family of brands Australia that are we able to drive change and reach, protect and empower some of the world’s most remote and vulnerable children, year on year. We thank them for their partnership.”

In addition to set donations contributed by GFOB for every passenger booked on the two brands, Globus and Cosmos customers will also be able to donate online. Globus and Cosmos will also host various staff fundraising efforts for UNICEF Australia.
