Globus family of brands has appointed award-winning industry leader Barbara “Babs” Baron as business development manager for New South Wales and the ACT.

With more than 30 years in the field, Baron has held roles spanning retail consulting, wholesale call centres, sales leadership and airline account management in both Australia and the UK. She worked most recently as BDM for NSW and ACT at APT Travel Group.

Her trade relations and business development track record earned her the consecutive title of Most Outstanding Sales Executive (Cruise) at the 2024 and 2025 NTIA Awards.

As BDM, Baron will take on responsibility for the Globus and Cosmos brands, alongside luxury river cruise operator, Avalon Waterways.

She will work closely with travel advisors and trade partners across the region, retaining and growing existing revenue streams, strengthening key partnerships and driving sales initiatives across NSW and the ACT.

A fresh perspective

Baron said the move gives her the chance to bring fresh energy to a portfolio she has long admired.
“Thirty years in and I still get a kick out of walking into a room and figuring out what’s going to make an advisor’s client fall in love with a trip. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is the calibre of the brands I get to do it with, Globus, Cosmos and Avalon have real trust in this market, and I want to build on that, not just maintain it.”
Globus family of brands head of commercial ANZ, Brett Simon, welcomed Baron to the team.
“We’re excited to welcome Babs to the team and look forward to the experience and energy she’ll inject. NSW and the ACT are some of our most competitive trade markets, and her two NTIA wins back-to-back speak to the calibre of expertise she brings to the role.”
