Brain experts from around the world have converged on the Gold Coast for the 13th Congress of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology.
The conference, which takes place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 9 to 13, has attracted around 1,200 delegates to the region.
The program examines the latest developments in the field with world renowned leaders highlighting the latest evidence-based progress in the diagnosis and treatment of neurovascular disorders.
“The Gold Coast is now recognised as an emerging hub for major medical conferences because of our close proximity to seven major universities, three medical schools and renowned research facilities,” Gold Coast business events director Anna Case said.
“Combined with our world class conference facilities and the allure of our beachside city to international delegates, it’s a logical choice for medical associations.”
She commended local association representatives Dr Hal Rice and Dr Laetitia de Villiers who had worked to attract the event to the city.
“The Congress will be a major contributor to the Gold Coast’s economic and intellectual capital, with a direct economic contribution into the business events and tourism industry and at the same time helping to inject fresh ideas, foster research, innovation and investment throughout the local universities and the wider community,” Case said.
In addition to the scientific program, the conference also incorporates a trade exhibition and gala dinner at Jupiters Hotel & Casino.
