The Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (SRS) has chosen the Gold Coast to host its 26th International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Sciences in May 2025.

It marks the first time the event has returned to Australia since 2003, when it took place in Sydney.

The SRS Leadership and the Local Organising Committee were successful in securing the Gold Coast for their next international event that expects to attract around 700 delegates over the five-day event.

According to Dr Giancarlo Pascali, Chair iSRS 2025, the symposium is the most important conference in the field of basic radiochemistry developments and innovation, covering all areas of the discipline.

Adrienne Readings, General Manager of GCCEC and Chair of Destination Gold Coast said attracting events such as this is a testament to the city’s exceptional mix of natural beauty, entertainment offerings, state of the art meeting facilities and world class business infrastructure.

Destination Gold Coast Acting Chief Operating Officer, Rachel Hancock added, “It is great to see a strong global interest in the Gold Coast for health and life sciences events, particularly as the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct increasingly becomes known as a hub for cross industry collaboration, healthcare innovation and next-generation technologies”.

“It’s great to see more evidence of the city’s appeal as a major destination for international conventions and we look forward to welcoming ISRS delegates to experience the region.” she said.

“Tourism Australia’s Business Events Bid Fund contnues to secure a strong pipeline of internatonal business events across Australia, including this latest win on the Gold Coast,” said Tourism Australia Managing Director Phillipa Harrison.

“The symposium in 2025 is another important event which will deliver significant benefits to the visitor economy.”

The 26th International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Sciences is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
