In very sad news, the travel industry has lost another agency veteran, with The Travel Masters & The Travel Studio co-founder Beth Malcolm passing away earlier this month.
The agency announced on its Facebook page last week that Malcolm passed away peacefully at the Gold Coast’s Pindara Hospital on 1 January after a brief illness, with her beloved husband and co-founder of The Travel Masters & The Travel Studio, Bob Malcolm, by her side.
“With an award-winning career in the travel industry spanning over 50 years, Beth Malcolm was extremely respected in the industry and acknowledged as a pioneer in small-group travel and international cruise holidays,” the agency said in a statement.
“Her passion for luxury overseas travel, specifically in Africa and South America, was clear to all who knew her.
“Beth’s commitment to serving her clients at the highest level resulted in many becoming close personal friends.
“In line with Beth’s wishes, her funeral will be held in Central Queensland near her place of birth and will be a private, close family service.
“Beth will be greatly missed by all.”
The Travel Masters & The Travel Studio has created a memorandum webpage which supports a subject that was “very close to Beth’s heart” – the preservation of African wildlife. Donations can be made here.
The news of Malcolm’s passing comes not long after the death of CT Partners general manager and AFTA director Ian Edwards at the age of 61.
