Golden Eagle Luxury Trains has released a new nine-day tour for 2026 exploring the ancient civilisation of Türkiye.

Beginning in Istanbul, Turkish Treasures launches in September and concludes in the fascinating region of Cappadocia, exploring the country’s iconic and lesser-known hidden treasures.

From the majestic domes of the Hagia Sophia and stunning mosaics of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, to the historic marble streets of Ephesus, guests will visit the spiritual ruins of UNESCO World Heritage site Hierapolis and the sacred city of Laodicea. The tour then delves into the heartbeat of Ankara, and the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia with fairy chimney valleys and underground cities.

The tour includes:

  • A private Istanbul sunset cruise on the Bosphorus
  • Tours through ancient ruins, temples and palaces
  • Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Goreme Open Air museum and its rock-cut churches

“Savouring the journey onboard aligns beautifully with the rhythm of a luxury private train,” Golden Eagle Luxury Trains director of product development James Masterson said. “While environmentally, rail travel is ideally positioned as a more sustainable choice.”

Turkish Treasures and all European tours travel on the much-loved Golden Eagle Danube Express with the elegant style, service and comfort Golden Eagle Luxury Trains is renowned for. Meals onboard are a true highlight prepared by the team of Chefs, while the bar is the social hub of the train. With every detail taken care of, guests can slow down, relax and enjoy the ever-changing landscapes. The extraordinary care of the team on this luxury hotel-on-wheels helps ensure the seamless delivery of guests into the heart of European train stations close to major areas of interest.

Golden Eagle Luxury Trains packages are fully inclusive of private ensuite rail accommodation, all exquisite meals and drinks, personal cabin attendant service, fully guided off-train excursions, all gratuities and transfers, plus premium hotels pre and post tour and a UK registered medical doctor on board.
