Travelling in a country where you don’t speak the local language has just become a whole lot easier, thanks to Google.
The tech giant has launched major software updates to the instant camera translation feature within the Google Translate app.
The updates include auto-detection of language, so instead of determining the dialect, users can just select “Detect language” and hold their smartphone camera up to the foreign text for an instant translation.
The app has also expanded to 88 languages, including a number from the Asia-Pacific region like Maori and Vietnamese.
Additionally, users can now translate between non-English language pairs, such as Marathi to Thai or Japanese to Korean. The app currently supports 104 languages.
