Flight Centre CEO Graham ‘Skroo’ Turner added to his medal collection this weekend, completing his ninth London marathon along with 18 other fit ‘flighties’.
Turner, 76, first ran the London Marathon in 1982 at only the second edition of the event. A medal from that original race, believed lost for many years, has recently been recovered – Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) revealed on a recent LinkedIn post.

All of the other 19 Flight Centre staff finished the race – a clean sweep the company described as a reflection of the determination and spirit across its teams. Among those completing the course was Tod Horton, who co-founded Flight Centre’s Healthwise initiative alongside Turner more than 25 years ago.
Healthwise has since grown into a global programme supporting the health, wealth and productivity of Flight Centre employees and their families. The company positions it not as a standalone initiative but as central to its culture and leadership philosophy.

Turner’s continued participation in endurance events at his age was cited by the company as emblematic of the values Healthwise is built on – that personal health underpins professional performance and community.
The London Marathon is one of the world’s six Abbott World Marathon Majors and consistently draws elite athletes and corporate teams alike each April.
