Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is bringing back its Classical Music meets Meditation program aboard MS Europa for 2027 in response to the positive feedback from guests.
The Swiss CHAARTS ensemble is once again on board – joined by the internationally acclaimed soprano Marlis Petersen and the Italian composer and violinist Francesca Guccione.
Combining high-caliber classical music with guided mindfulness practices, the concept offers guests a holistic, immersive experience designed to inspire lasting wellbeing beyond the voyage.
The 12-day journey from Santa Cruz to Cape Town (6 to 18 November 2027) brings together internationally acclaimed artists and leading experts in meditation and movement. The Swiss CHAARTS ensemble returns alongside renowned soprano Marlis Petersen and Italian composer and violinist Francesca Guccione, creating an intimate concert setting that blends classical repertoire with contemporary soundscapes.
At the core of the program is the interplay between music and mindfulness. Daily sessions led by specialists in yoga, meditation and bodywork guide guests through practices that integrate movement, breath and awareness. These experiences are closely interwoven with the musical performances, allowing guests to engage with sound on a deeper, more physical level.
In addition to her performances, Marlis Petersen hosts exclusive sessions drawing on her expertise in breathwork and aromatherapy, offering guests rare, personal insights into voice, sensory perception and relaxation techniques. Optional individual sessions are also available, further enhancing the personalized nature of the program.
With a guest capacity of just 400 and a nearly 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, the MS Europa provides an intimate setting for this unique format. The program builds on the ship’s long-standing reputation for exceptional service, refined cuisine, and a strong focus on cultural enrichment.
