Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has revealed a raft of new itineraries for its 2027-2028 season.
Headliners include the luxury line’s first-ever winter season in the Indian Ocean, a voyage combining all five Great Lakes with the St Lawrence River, and fresh explorations of the Philippines and the American West Coast.
The German operator’s five luxury and expedition ships will call at more than 500 ports annually across the new season.
The voyages
Among the standout new routes, luxury ship EUROPA will sail a 29-day voyage from Valparaiso to San Francisco in February 2027, taking in eight countries across South, Central and North America, from Peru and Costa Rica through to a Golden Gate Bridge arrival. Fares start from €12,792 per person.
In 2028, EUROPA will also debut its first in-depth exploration of the Philippines, running two consecutive cruises comprising 13 calls at 10 ports, including a premiere visit to Mantigue Island.
Sister ship EUROPA 2 will introduce a new South Pacific itinerary taking in Papua New Guinea and Palau for the first time, alongside a Costa Rica Pacific coast route with maiden calls at Isla Tortuga and Puerto Jiménez.
On the expedition side, HANSEATIC nature will spend the 2027-2028 winter season in the Indian Ocean for the first time, visiting Madagascar, the Seychelles and Mauritius, with its shallow draft allowing access to remote islands and protected atolls for Zodiac cruises, guided walks, snorkelling and wildlife encounters.
The ship will also operate three new 14-day voyages dedicated to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula in early 2028, offering a shorter but still immersive polar experience.
In a North American first, HANSEATIC inspiration will become the only cruise ship to combine all five Great Lakes with the St Lawrence River on a single sailing in summer 2027, connecting Toronto, Montreal and Quebec via its retractable bridge wings, which allow passage through the waterway’s locks.
Rounding out the new routes, HANSEATIC spirit will debut a Kimberley region expedition in Western Australia in May 2028, showcasing sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, Indigenous rock art and wildlife.
