Helloworld is still mixing things up with the appointment of Joe McCormack to the newly created role of general manager land purchase for its wholesale and inbound divisions.

McCormack will take up the new position on April 26, heading up the Helloworld and AOT Group contracting teams responsible for negotiating land product for all HLO Wholesale and Inbound brands including Qantas Holidays, Viva Holidays, Qantas Vacations, Go Holidays, Insider Journeys, Sunlover Holidays, Territory Discoveries, AOT Inbound, ATS Pacific, and ETA.

Commenting on the appointment, Cinzia Burnes, Helloworld’s head of wholesale and inbound Cinzia Burnes pointed to the “significant synergies” to be made within the new procurement structure.

“We believe our supplier partners will welcome the consolidation of the process which will deliver them access to a range of channels via a single point of contact within the business,” she said.

“We are delighted to welcome Joe McCormack to this new role and I think that with Joe heading up the global Contracting team and Leanne Chard heading up our Product teams, we really have in place a structure to provide our distribution partners and our supplier partners with the best possible outcomes.”

McCormack has worked at Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) for the last 10 years, where he led its specialist corporate land product team in sourcing, contracting and distributing hotel and ground transport products worldwide across the entire FCTG corporate brand network including FCM Travel Solutions, Corporate Traveller, Stage and Screen Travel, Campus Travel and Flight Centre Business Travel.

Prior to joining FCTG Joe worked in various roles within the hotel industry for 20 years, most recently at Saville Hotel Group.

The company said goodbye to Qantas Holidays and Viva! Holidays general manager sales Fiona Dalton earlier this month as she was named the new Australia head of The Travel Corporation’s Uniworld river cruise brand.
