Less than a week after details emerged of an executive team re-shake over at Helloworld, chief executive and managing director Andrew Burnes has confirmed the appointment of a new chief financial officer.
Michael Burnett, most recently CFO of Transurban North America, will take on the role in April when current CFO Jenny Macdonald departs the company.
Burnes highlighted Burnett’s “strong financial and commercial acumen” as making him the “stand-out” candidate for the position.
“Michael has extensive experience in the management of all aspects of the finance function and I believe that his contribution will support the growth of our business and he will make a great addition to the HLO leadership team,” he said.
Macdonald’s departure after 18 months with the company, including a stint as acting chief executive after Elizabeth Gaines left the building, was confirmed last week.
Burnes paid tribute to her “outstanding” work as CFO and described her as “instrumental” in the recent Helloworld-AOT merger.
