With the newly released Jurassic World filmed in Krabi’s dramatic limestone landscapes, Banyan Tree Krabi leans into the jungle-meets-cinema magic – from lush surroundings to themed cocktails like the “T-Rex” and “Raptor” served at sunset. But beyond the playful nods lies a serene sanctuary of luxury, wellness, and wow-factor views.
Welcome: 9/10
If paradise had a check-in counter, this would be it. Arriving at Banyan Tree Krabi – around two and a half hours from Phuket Airport — feels like stepping into a tropical daydream. You’re greeted with a signature mocktail, a cool lemongrass-scented towel, and a complimentary neck and shoulder massage as you check in with the sea sparkling in the background. A personal Banyan Tree host (yes, really) then escorts you via buggy through lush gardens to your private pool villa. It’s a check-in experience that sets the tone: tranquil, polished, and gently theatrical.
Facilities: 9/10
This rainforest-fringed resort is purpose-built for indulgence. The main infinity pool gazes out at Krabi’s famous limestone cliffs, and the daily activity program includes Muay Thai, yoga, kayaking, and batik painting. The real showstopper? The Rainforest Hydrotherapy Experience — a spa journey that includes a herbal steam room, wooden sauna, three outdoor pools of different temperatures, an icy plunge pool, and hydro-pressure jets and waterfall showers nestled into the jungle. Finish it with a Balinese or Thai massage in a private pavilion and you’ll emerge as a whole new person.
Room: 10/10
Every suite and villa at Banyan Tree Krabi features a private pool, but the Beachfront Pool Villa stands out with its deep terrazzo bathtub, breezy daybed, and postcard-worthy views. Interiors are rich in natural textures, and the nightly turn-down service includes pillow and scent menus, soft lighting, and thoughtful details like herbal balms placed at your bedside. It’s the kind of space where you half expect a spa therapist to appear with a hot towel just because.
Service: 10/10
Warm, discreet, and genuinely caring — the staff here are the resort’s secret superpower. From tailoring your aromatherapy scent to remembering your drink of choice, every interaction feels personal. Our spa therapist added extra minutes to the massage without a word, and on our private longtail boat trip to Koh Hong, the crew handed out chilled towels and pineapple skewers between snorkels. Even the buggy drivers greet you like old friends.
Dining: 8/10
There’s great food — and then there’s dining in the Bird’s Nest. Suspended over the jungle canopy with panoramic views of the sea, this set menu experience is a must. With its elevated Thai flavours, ambient lighting, and gentle sea breeze, it’s one of the most memorable meals you’ll ever have. Inside the resort, Saffron delivers reimagined Thai classics — don’t miss the green curry or the tamarind-glazed prawns. Breakfast is equally indulgent, with tropical fruit, fresh pastries, and Thai favourites. Sunset happy hour? Jurassic-themed drinks and a front-row seat to nature’s nightly show.
Overall: 9/10
Banyan Tree Krabi is more than a resort — it’s a luxurious jungle hideaway infused with spa serenity, playful cinematic nods, and some of the most beautiful views in southern Thailand. Whether you’re island-hopping, hydrating in the rainforest spa, or sipping a Raptor mocktail at sunset, one thing’s certain: this is where you come to reset.
