Hotel Review: Taipei Grand Hotel

One of the oldest five-star hotels around, the Grand Hotel is the only place worth staying in Taipei.

Prepare to be mindblown by the beauty of this hotel, from the rooms, to the lobby, to the hundreds of dragon statues scattered around.

The hotel is 14 stories tall and has some 500 rooms – perfect for a birds-eye view of Taipei.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, with traditional Chinese artwork some of the comfiest beds in Taipei.

The Grand Hotel has a tennis court and massive pool for guests to swim in – the only downside having to wait for a shuttle bus to get there (it’s a 10-15 minute walk).

There are also multiple restaurants, serving Chinese, Western and Japanese cuisine, as well as meeting rooms – making the hotel popular for tourists and businessmen alike.

Being one of the standout landmarks of Taipei, the hotel is located above the city, on top of a hill with views of Taipei City, Keelung River and Yangming Mountain.

Because the grounds of the hotel are so expansive, the city is a short shuttle bus ride away, which the hotel provides.
