Nestled along the tranquil banks of the Masuwe River, The Wallow Lodge offers a luxurious safari retreat within a private concession of Victoria Falls National Park.

This tented camp, surrounded by 4,500 acres of pristine wilderness, provides an intimate connection to nature while ensuring guests experience unparalleled comfort and service.

Welcome 8/10

Hopping out from your jeep the first impression at The Wallow Lodge exudes a warm and personalised welcome. Staff members are attentive and eager to assist, ensuring a seamless check-in process and providing insights into the array of activities available.

Rooms 9/10

The lodge features 16 elegantly designed tented suites, each elevated to offer uninterrupted views of the Masuwe River. These suites blend classic safari charm with modern amenities, including air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and private balconies. The thoughtful inclusion of mosquito nets and a selection of teas and biscuits adds to the comfort, while the sounds of impalas and elephants nearby enhance the immersive experience.

Dining 9/10

Dining at The Wallow Lodge is exceptional. Sometimes fine dining in this part of the world can be a bit hit and miss but not at Wallow. Meals crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients and curated to your guests’ tastes. The chefs skillfully blend traditional flavours with contemporary techniques, resulting in dishes that are both authentic and innovative. The all-inclusive package encompasses all meals and local beverages, allowing guests to indulge without concern.

The lodge’s staff are renowned for their attentive and friendly service. From knowledgeable guides leading safaris to the housekeeping team ensuring pristine accommodations, every staff member is dedicated to enhancing the guest experience. Their genuine hospitality contributes significantly to the lodge’s welcoming atmosphere.

Facilities 8/10

The Wallow Lodge offers a range of facilities designed to enrich the guest experience. The main lodge area includes a spacious lounge, dining area, and a fully stocked bar. Guests can relax by the infinity pool or gather around the sunken fire pit in the evenings. The lodge’s all-inclusive nature ensures that guests can enjoy these amenities without additional charges.

Activities 9/10

Guests at The Wallow Lodge can partake in a variety of activities that showcase the natural beauty of the region. A highlight is the sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, offering opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles, and elephants in their natural habitat. Additionally, the lodge organises safaris culminating in sundowners at the Batoka Gorge, where guests can enjoy drinks and canapés while taking in breathtaking views.

Overall 9/10

The Wallow Lodge provides an exceptional blend of luxury and nature, making it an ideal choice for travellers seeking an immersive safari experience near Victoria Falls with a hefty dollop of luxury. Its combination of elegant accommodations, exquisite dining, and personalised service ensures a stay that is both comfortable and unforgettable. And while the price tag can be a bit daunting on the face of it, by the time you factor in the all-inclusive nature, you’ll realise that cheaper properties can often be a false economy.
