Yes, it’s a big call, that headline. But we’re serious when we say that failure is the most important lesson on the path to success.

And our speakers at the AMAZING Travel DAZE agree with us. That’s why we’re introducing you to them one by one.

First up, is the formidable Vice President, Australia, for Carnival Cruise Lines: Jennifer Vandekreeke.

She’s not afraid of failure, heck, she’s learned some of her most valuable lessons from a healthy dose of mistakes.

“You learn far more from failure than you do from success,” Vanderkreeke told TW.

Alongside oodles of other wicked speakers, Vanderkreeke is hailing the place of failure in the travel industry – how else do we learn, right?

In this light, Vanderkreeke continued.

“Back in 2012, in typical American style, we were confident we had thought of everything.  We were so ready for our first foray into an international market.

“And in the end we missed more than we ever could have imagined. That experience gave us the freedom and responsibility to do a deep dive on all the things that we missed and make it right.

“In the end, we learned so much more from the things that we missed than we ever did from those parts of the guest experience that we nailed on the first try.”

Travel DAZE is returning to the iconic Belvoir Street theatre on Monday, 25 September 2017. You want tickets? We got them here.

You need a letter for your boss on why you should attend/get free tickets/a day off to go? We’ve got you covered here too.

And for all the other good stuff and last year’s happy snaps, check this out here.

Thanks to our sponsors, you guys are guns! Stay tuned for more lessons on failure in coming days and weeks.
