There’s no doubt the hospitality industry has been handed one almighty sh*t sandwich in COVID-19, with occupancy rates plummeting in properties across the globe.

However, one hotel group has recognised these challenging times as an opportunity to adapt and innovate its guest experience.

While adhering to growing government restrictions on travelling and social distancing. Ovolo Hotels is evolving its packages to isolate in comfort, bringing social hour to guests with a trolley service, making complimentary breakfast effortless with room service and now with restaurants and bars pivoting towards takeaway.

“Going against the grain is in our DNA,” Ovolo founder and CEO Girish Jhunjhnuwala said.

“With every touchpoint, we continuously strive to innovate. Times like these require no other approach.

“By embracing the situation, we must adapt so we can continue to provide a unique and effortless experience. We get knocked down, but we get up again. Ain’t nothin’ gonna keep us down!”

From a ‘7 Day Recharge’ to ‘14 Day Lock In’, Ovolo’s new long-stay packages are designed for guests to work, rest and play in comfort.

They will be in good company with all of The Perks; a signature of staying with Ovolo. These include continental breakfast, a loot bag filled with goodies, an in-room mini bar replenished daily, a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, and even daily turmeric-based ‘shooters’ to boost your immunity.

Furthermore, if the room rate drops before guests check in, Ovolo will give them the difference in credit to spend at its hotels.

Ovolo’s flexibility for check-in and out options have also been enhanced to ensure guests during this time are not bound by time pressures and can enjoy a stay on their time.

While sundowner drinks at social hour is one of the hotel group’s most popular perks, an hour of snacks and drinks on Ovolo is now being delivered to guests in their rooms every night.

And, just because Aussies are currently restricted from dining in restaurants doesn’t mean they have to miss out on Ovolo’s culinary offerings.

The hotel group’s Alibi Bar & Kitchen in Sydney, Monster Kitchen and Bar in Canberra) and ZA ZA TA Bar & Kitchen in Brisbane are allowing locals to enjoy their food and drink from the comfort of their own home.
