ICC Sydney has successfully hosted its first in-person conference since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Delivered for medical education provider HealthCert Education the venue welcomed more than 125 doctors and health professionals to attend interactive courses and workshops presented in person.

The conference, which took place from 19 to 20 September, was delivered in line with ICC Sydney’s EventSafe Operating Framework while meeting the current NSW government 150-person limit per event.

ICC Sydney chief executive Geoff Donaghy said the event marked an important milestone on the business events industry’s road to recovery following the impact of COVID-19.

“I am pleased to welcome in-person conferences back to ICC Sydney for the first time since the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions,” he said.

“The ICC Sydney team have worked tirelessly to develop a rigorous framework to allow us to begin confidently running in-person events, such as this event for HealthCert Education.

“Through ICC Sydney’s EventSafe protocols, we can continue to bring people together and provide clients with the opportunity to meet with peace of mind that the utmost safety measures are in place.”

ICC Sydney has also expanded its virtual event platform to provide event organisers with complete end to end virtual and hybrid solutions.

The new service will be delivered by ICC Sydney’s audiovisual and ICT teams, enabling clients to broadcast their virtual events from ICC Sydney’s state-of-the-art studios with a customisable interface, delivering a bespoke event experience.

ICC Sydney Connect offers the seamless integration of event experiences by powering registration management, online security, project management, sponsorship and marketing, engagement and insights.

The platform is an extension of the venue’s Hybrid Event Solutions, which was fast-tracked and launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and resultant restriction on in-person events.
