British bourne expedition cruise line Swan Hellenic has been reborn with two spanking new ships.

The cruise line was acquired by G Adventures in 2017 after its parent company, All Leisure Group, collapsed.

Now, under new management, the line plans to launch its first sailing in November 2021 with an Antarctica sailing.

Two state-of-the-art expedition ships are being built for the line in Helsinki Oy, Finland with capacity for 152 guests and 120 staff.

Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito said: “I am proud to announce the rebirth of Swan Hellenic; a pioneering, iconic travel brand with the mission to be the leader in cultural expedition cruising.

“The new Swan Hellenic retains its British heritage, whilst being international in outlook.”

According to Zito, trade partnerships will be crucial in the line’s business.

“Swan Hellenic was always a family brand, and we want to continue along the same line by inviting all cruise industry partners to become part of the new Swan Hellenic community,” he said.

In the meantime, the company will launch offices in Monaco, the UK and Germany with a senior management team has more than 100 years of cruise industry experience.

Zito (formerly of Silversea and Vships) will be based at Swan Hellenic’s headquarters in Monaco, John Warner (formerly of G Adventures and Trailfinders) and Mario Bounas (formerly of Royal Caribbean and The Langham) will lead the UK office, and Alfredo Spadon (formerly of Silversea and MSC Cruises) will head up the office in Germany.

Zito said more information about Swan Hellenic’s plans will be released in the next few weeks and months.

“We are back and we’re bigger and bolder than ever,” he said.
