IHG Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Gerritse as the new general manager of Hotel X, Fortitude Valley. Hotel X is Brisbane’s boldest luxury lifestyle hotel and the first Vignette Collection globally.

Gerritse brings over 15 years of luxury hospitality experience to the role, with a strong background in sales, marketing, and operational leadership across some of Australia’s most iconic hotel brands. Most recently, Gerritse served as director of
sales and marketing at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, where he played a pivotal role in positioning the 251-room property as the leading luxury resort on the Gold Coast.

His earlier experience includes senior roles with W Brisbane, where he was part of the pre-opening leadership team, and at Park Hyatt Sydney, where he managed high-profile markets including entertainment, wholesale, and international
delegations.

Now stepping into the role of general manager at Hotel X, Daniel will lead the hotel into its next chapter, one defined by bold design, unique experiences, and a dynamic location in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

“Hotel X opened in 2021 as the flagship property to debut the Vignette Collection brand on the global stage, a design-forward hotel that has captured the spirit of Fortitude Valley from day one,” said Daniel Gerritse, general manager at Hotel X
Brisbane. “It’s a privilege to now lead a property that not only helped shape the identity of the brand but continues to set the benchmark for luxury with personality. Looking ahead, my vision is to elevate Hotel X as a refined five-star destination,
one that harnesses our exceptional location and vibrant character to deliver immersive, meaningful experiences that are unmistakably Brisbane.”
