Influencer visits IKEA store, fools followers into thinking she’s in Bali

A US social media influencer has somehow managed to trick her followers into thinking she was in Bali when, in reality, she just took a trip to her local furniture store.

Natalia Taylor recently posted a series of photos of herself posing in what looked like a luxe Bali hotel.

“The queen has arrived #bali,” she captioned her first slew of images, which were also tagged her location as being taken in Bali, Indonesia.

Taylor, who has more than 319,000 followers, posted three sets of photos in total showing her all glammed up and posing with a wine bottle and in a bathtub. But to some savvy shoppers, the photos will look all too familiar.

That’s because the photos were actually taken in Taylor’s local IKEA store.

Taylor revealed her trickery in a Youtube video where she revealed she had not been to Bali, but had paid a visit to the furniture store’s iconic showrooms.

“It’s been said life on the internet isn’t always what it seems, especially in today’s day and age when it’s so easy to pretend to be anyone you want to be,” she said.

“So many influencers nowadays have actually been caught in the act of pretending to be at a particular destination when they really weren’t and it’s either Photoshop or it’s not even them.”

According to the influencer, nobody questioned the photos despite a few stray Ikea tags making it into the shoot.

“It seems painfully obvious that I’m not in Bali. I’m not even posting any of the iconic Bali photos of me on the beach or in exotic locations and I’m getting away with it. That’s insane,” she said.
