InsideJapan offers comments as Japan starts to reopen borders

As Kydo News reports, Japan will raise its COVID entry cap, and cut its quarantine period from March.

Although the announcement doesn’t mean that the doors are open again for international tourism, the reducing of quarantine period and the increasing of non-Japanese numbers entering the country can be considered a gradual move towards allowing international inbound travel again.

Full details are still to come, but InsideJapan expects that there will be an incremental easing of restrictions over the coming months, and it is expected that there will be some international travel from the early summer onwards.
