International Convention Centre Sydney, managed by ASM Global, has been crowned the winner in the Best Convention Centre (outside of the US) in the Skift Meetings Awards program.

The Skift Meetings Award lauded ICC Sydney for its holistic approach to operational, environmental and customer service excellence that sets it apart as a leader in the global event industry.

Geoff Donaghy, CEO of ICC Sydney and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), praised the commitment and innovation of the people behind the accolade.

“To be honoured with this prestigious award for our world class services reflects not only the quality of the venue’s unique infrastructure, but also the industry benchmark we have set for event delivery,” he said.

“This achievement would not be possible without the consistent dedication and ingenuity of our highly skilled team members who are committed to delivering exemplary events – all while making a difference to our local community.

“Corporate Social Responsibility is core to ICC Sydney’s business management framework, values and culture. This award is a welcome testament of the way our team delivers on initiatives that contribute toward a global agenda for building sustainable cities and communities.

“Underpinned by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, I’m incredibly proud of our Corporate Social Responsibility Plan that ensures our team prioritises efforts in areas where we can have the most significant environmental impact – particularly through waste and energy reduction; and by engaging clients with our Legacy Program, which presents opportunities to make meaningful contributions to society through the pillars of Environmental Sustainability, First Nations, Inclusion and Belonging, Innovators and Entrepreneurs and Creative Industries,” said Donaghy who is soon to retire from the role.

The ICC Sydney team impressed the judging panel with the unparalleled features of its state-of-the-art facilities, advanced high-tech services, personalised and agile expert support, excellent dining experiences that emphasise sustainability and local sourcing, sustainability ethos, community engagement, social responsibility, and approach to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.
