Intrepid Travel hosted four Australian Football League Women (AFLW) stars on a special departure of Women’s Expedition to Nepal.
The campaign comes as demand for women-only travel continues to grow, with Intrepid’s Women’s Expeditions range up 32 per cent in 2025.
Intrepid created the campaign in partnership with the AFL Players Association, North Melbourne Football Club and Purpose Impact Agency. It features North Melbourne’s Ash Riddell and Jasmine Garner, Collingwood’s Ruby Schleicher and Carlton’s Darcy Vescio travelling through Nepal alongside Intrepid’s local leader, assistant guides and all-female porter team. The campaign launches alongside the 2026 AFLW season.

“Women’s sport and women’s travel are both about creating opportunities, building confidence and challenging what’s possible,” Intrepid Travel ANZ general manager Yvette Thompson said. “This campaign celebrates the remarkable women at the heart of every Intrepid journey from the AFLW athletes experiencing Nepal for the first time to our local leaders, guides and porters whose stories, knowledge and warmth made the trip unforgettable.”
Intrepid organised the trip through partnerships with the North Melbourne Football Club and the AFL Players Association.
Women are increasingly trading solo adventures for shared experiences on the trail, according to recent research.
