Intrepid Travel has committed to no additional surcharges on existing or new bookings for 2026, offering travellers greater confidence and peace of mind at a time when costs are impacting the broader travel industry.
“Travel should feel exciting, not uncertain,” Intrepid ANZ MD Brett Mitchell said. “We know confidence matters when booking a trip, and that starts with clarity on price. Our focus is on delivering incredible, locally led experiences without unexpected add-ons or last-minute increases.”
While some operators have flagged the potential for surcharges tied to fuel, currency or operational costs, Intrepid is committed to absorbing these costs within its tour pricing wherever possible, so that travellers are not faced with unexpected price increases after booking.
“At its core, this is about doing right by our customers,” Mitchell added. “We believe in being upfront, standing by our pricing, and giving travellers the confidence to book their next adventure.”
Additionally, Intrepid’s booking conditions and flexible bookings terms are designed to be clear, customer-first, flexible and transparent. These include low deposits, a clear cancellation structure, and clear and flexible payment timelines. Specific terms, deposits and cancellation conditions vary by region and trip type.
This commitment applies to Intrepid’s tour and flight-inclusive packages only and excludes Polar trips and Tailor-Made arrangements. International flights are not included in most Intrepid trips and, where travellers book flights independently or through third‑party providers, airfare pricing and any airline‑imposed charges remain subject to the airline’s own policies.
