Intrepid Travel has formed a new partnership with First Nations tourism company Yalka Ratara Aboriginal Corporation, securing exclusive access to an unforgettable glamping experience in Australia’s breathtaking Red Centre.

The partnership will see Intrepid become the only tourism operator offering stays at the Corporation’s newly developed Yalka Eco Stays, located in Palm Valley within the Finke Gorge National Park, featuring eight eco-designed tents with air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms and breathtaking views of one of the country’s most remote landscapes.

The campsite was made possible through a major 2021 grant from the Federal Aboriginal Benefits Account (ABA). Additional support came from Tourism NT’s Aboriginal Tourism Development in Parks and Reserves Grant Program and the NT Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations. The project also received strong backing from the Central Land Council and NT Parks & Wildlife Commission. Together, these contributions have created a world-class tourism experience, with modern conveniences and exceptional guest comfort.

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Yalka Ratara Aboriginal Corporation to create an experience that not only showcases one of Australia’s most spectacular landscapes but also supports First Nations tourism and economic empowerment,” Intrepid Travel’s managing director ANZ, Brett Mitchell said.

“This partnership is a great example of how we can help drive more meaningful and sustainable tourism experiences in Australia’s Red Centre.”

Exclusive to Intrepid Travel, this campsite features premium glamping tents equipped with air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms, blending comfort with the rugged beauty of the Outback. Intrepid’s Red Centre and Uluru Explorer trip will operate through Palm Valley from 1 July 2025.

The updated itinerary allows guests to stay within Palm Valley for two nights removing long day trips from Alice Springs and granting greater access to the West MacDonnell Ranges’ hidden gems.
