Intrepid Travel has hosted a 10-day small group tour through Western Australia for North Melbourne Football Club fans, extending its partnership with the club beyond the stadium.

The one-off Roos Out West Adventure, held in June, followed the club across consecutive home matches in Bunbury and Perth, while taking in Western Australian destinations including Perth, Margaret River and Rottnest Island.

The tailor-made itinerary combined Intrepid’s small group travel format with behind-the-scenes access to the club, including training sessions, dinners with former North Melbourne players Brent Harvey and Peter Bell, time with current player Dylan Stephens, tickets to both matches and a guard of honour experience for travellers.

Intrepid Travel ANZ general manager Yvette Thompson said the trip was designed to extend the company’s partnership with the club beyond match day.

Intrepid said the North Melbourne fan tour was intended to introduce new audiences to its small group travel offering.
Intrepid said the North Melbourne fan tour was intended to introduce new audiences to its small group travel offering.

“Sport and travel both have a special way of bringing people together, so we wanted to build on our partnership by creating a trip that went beyond the game,” Thompson said. “It gave fans exclusive access to the club while experiencing the best of Western Australia with a local Intrepid leader.”

North Melbourne Football Club chief commercial officer Orry Lack said the tour gave members a chance to connect with the club outside of games.

“Seeing our supporters travel together throughout WA, spend time with our current and past players, and build new connections along the way made it a really special experience,” Lack said.

The tour forms part of Intrepid’s broader partnership with North Melbourne, which the companies said was intended to introduce new audiences to Intrepid’s small group travel offering.
