Is this Tourism Australia’s next big campaign?

A hilarious new clip of American actor Danny McBride as a 2018 Crocodile Dundee is doing the rounds on social media.

But is it the work of Tourism Australia?

For those who haven’t seen it, the clip is a faux (or real?) movie trailer features McBride playing the original Crocodile Dundee’s, actor Paul Hogan, somewhat annoying American son.

Check out the clip here:

The teaser is great, but what’s even better is the rumour mill currently working in overdrive, as speculation that this is the work of Tourism Australia (TA) grows.

Some are claiming it’s TA’s Superbowl ad, which happens next month.

While TA are not responding to claims, fuel was added to the fire when a second clip featuring Chris Hemsworth – a current TA ambassador – playing himself.

The above photo adds very little to this story, but we found it necessary to pop in a photo of Chris Hemsworth anyway.

Another point internet speculators are holding onto is Hogan’s infamous ‘G’day Mate’ campaign which rolled out in the states in 1984.

It’s all still just rumours at the moment folks, but if there’s one thing we love, it’s TA campaign, so here’s hoping!

At this stage, the official and only TA comment is “No comment”.
