The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has wrapped two sold-out networking events for agents in Sydney and Brisbane, highlighting the continued strength of Japan as a destination.
With around 225 attendees in total, the events featured a lineup of 40 leading Japanese suppliers at each location and provided in-depth insights in Japan’s offerings.
For the first time, JNTO also arranged exclusive one-hour slots for a group of VIPs to engage in one-on-one slots with suppliers to help promote product knowledge and marketing efforts in the Australian market.
The events commenced with welcome welcomes from the JNTO executive team and an address from the Consulate General.
JNTO also highlighted the tourism boom in Japan of late with a record 505,000 Australian travellers from January to June this year alone.
Agents in attendance also took part in drop-in appointments with suppliers and destinations and enjoyed the networking opportunities throughout the events.

Entertainment on the day included traditional karate demonstrations like board-breaking and and background on the art of karate and a range of giveaways like accommodation stays, traditional crafts and Japanese spirits.
