Journey Beyond has appointed Jennifer Vandekreeke as Managing Director, Experiences & Attractions, in a newly created role reflecting the rapid growth of the tourism group’s day experiences business.
Vandekreeke brings more than 25 years’ experience across the cruise, attractions and tourism sectors. She joins from URBNSURF, where she was CEO, having previously held senior roles as Executive General Manager of NRMA Expeditions and vice president and general manager Australia at Carnival Cruise Line.
Journey Beyond CEO Chris Tallent said Vandekreeke would lead the division through its next phase of growth.
“Jennifer will lead our Experiences & Attractions division at an exciting time of growth, with responsibility for driving commercial performance, strengthening and elevating our guest experience even further, building the best employee experience and successfully integrating new businesses into our expanding portfolio,” Tallent said.
The division includes Journey Beyond’s portfolio of day experiences, including Cruise Whitsundays, Rottnest Express, Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures, Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo, Sailaway Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, Darwin Harbour Cruises, Melbourne Skydeck & Eureka 89, and Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney.
Vandekreeke said the portfolio was unlike any other in Australia.
“From Whitehaven Beach to Horizontal Falls, no other tourism portfolio offers access to destinations as iconic and spectacular as this. I’m excited to join Journey Beyond and work with such a talented team as we immerse our guests in the very best of Australia,” she said.
She will be based in Sydney.
